Whats Best for Remote Workers: VDI or VPN?
The question of VDI versus VPN really means, When my users work from home, should I provide a remote virtual desktop they can access from any type of device in their home? VDI Or, should I get them a laptop which runs everything locally on it and then have them connect back to the office through the VPN to access their files, apps, etc? Before we can even answer which one is better, or which option you should do, think about how you define what better is. For example, do you define the better solution as the one that is. Fastest to deploy? Easiest to deploy? Cheapest to deploy? Best user experience? Will work for the most users? Provides the best security? By the way you dont get to say yes to all of these. Its like that old business adage: Fast, cheap, and easy: you can only have two of the three. Its also impossible to go down that list and just say VDI or VPN is more appropriate for each since the answer for each could be VDI or VPN depending on your specific situation.

How to Increase VPN Connection Speeds 5 simple methods.
For example, youre wanting to change your Netflix region library while living abroad, youll have to connect to a VPN server in America. But as with any streaming service, Netflix requires a fast VPN connection. Always remember that the further the distance between the VPN sever and your device, the slower the VPN connection speed. Geographical distance impacts VPN connection speed for 3 main reasons.: Data is transmitted in packets. More packets are lost over longer distances. Data has to travel over several networks before it reaches its intended destination. A longer distance means that there are more networks to pass through. This, in turn, affects your latency. Finally, there are international bandwidth limitations. The data cables that cross international boundaries can only transmit a finite amount of data. Therefore, if there is too much data to transmit, latency is going to increase. This results in reduced speeds. Strategy 2: Change Your VPN Connection Protocol. Better VPN connection protocols use higher bit encryption.
